J. Lynn Clark, president and founder, began Clark & Associates, Inc. in 1989 after working as a district court official reporter and a freelance reporter. Lynn is one of the few agency owners who manages an agency and takes depositions. Doing both keeps her current with issues affecting court reporters, the legal community and the business community.
Lynn holds an Associate's Degree in Business and Court Reporting from the American Institute of Business, a private business college in Des Moines, Iowa. In November 1984, she achieved the highest level in the court reporting industry, Registered Merit Reporter (RMR), a designation realized by few reporters nationwide. This honor was preceded by Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) in May 1984 and Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) in 1979.
Lynn is a member of the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) and was President of the South Carolina Court Reporters Association (SCCRA) in 1992-1993.
Lynn served as a Commissioner with the South Carolina Commission on National and Community Service from 2001-2005. This group promotes community services and funds oversees over 10 million dollars worth of grants a year to deserving SC non-profit service organizations, including Americi-Corps.
